How much will my credit limit be on a credit card?

I want to do a balance transfer onto a new credit card with lower interest...however, I do not want to apply if I will not be granted enough (or higher credit limit). How is the credit limit determined, and what limit should I expect with a very good paying job and a score of 680+?|||Absolutely impossible to answer as credit card companies move in mysterious ways. YOur best bet is to call them %26amp; try %26amp; get an answer from them. You also better check %26amp; see if there are any balance transfer fees which could wipe out any savings from the transfer.|||http://www.orchardbank4u.com

|||Opening another credit card to get a lower interest will probably lower your credit score - you don't want it any lower than that - you want to get it above 700. Instead call your present credit card and ask for your interest rate to be lowered. If you have a good history, they will probably do it.

Applying for another card and getting it will increase your access to credit but again your credit score may be lowered in response to your ability to charge more money and perhaps get into trouble.

Credit is a fun thing and getting stranger all the time. Make sure you always pay more than they ask and before the payment date - your score will go up.|||Credit limit varies from company to company your score and income do not justify any limits.
