How do I increase the credit limit on my credit card?

So I've had a credit card with Chase for two years now, and I've graduated from college and am living at home right now.

My credit limit (at $1,100) hasn't increased in a year and a half.

The weird thing is, I've always made my credit card payments in full, and have never been late.

How (step-by-step) can I raise my credit limit?

And what's the max amt. I could raise it to?|||The best way to increase your credit limit is to call the credit card company and ask. The creditor may run a credit check before approving/denying the request. This will mean another hard inquiry on your credit report. I'd ask for 150% of your current limit ($1,650).|||Credit card companies are not automatically increasing credit lines like they use to. You can call and ask for an increase but don't be surprised if they say no. Your history is probably still pretty thin and you may not qualify for a higher limit till you get a lot more history.

The fastest way to get a limit increase is to almost max out the card and pay in full every month. You'll also get all sorts of special low rate offers.|||Haha, I was in the same situation. Sadly, you have to wait until your credit card company decides to bump up your limit. Sorry.|||Call the company and ask
