How do you increase your credit limit with CapitalOne?

It was easy with my US Bank card. I simply updated my income and doubled the credit limit. But I called capital one to increase my income and they said the only time they do that is when you apply. Does that mean your stuck with your income for 100 years? Doesn't make sense.

My accounts are all in good standing, nothing late, everythings good.|||Call and tell them you have another offer for a much higher limit and/or lower interest rate. Will they match it?

It could be that you don't have a long enough credit history. Captital One periodically review your credit file and typically automatically increases the limit.|||I hope you do not want to raise your credit limit so you can spend more. I hope you merely are doing this to raise your debt to balance ratio to improve your credit.

Wait another 3 months, and ask again.

If they say no, simply open another credit card account, try US Bank again since you are already established with them. Three credit cards are good to keep a good rating. But never, ever carry a balance.|||Well how much is your credit limit

If its 300 they should increase it to at least 1000 within the first year then you usually have to wait 6 months to 1 year for another automatic update but you could also cancel one card and apply for one of the other cards for people with better credit to see if you get a higher limit on those. Don't cancel until your accepted by the other though|||With many new credit card accounts you need to wait about six months before requesting a credit line increase. I don't believe they would never increase your credit limit. Capital One should give you an increase without even asking. Usually increasing income really doesn't effect your your chances for a limit increase. This is because a person could call up and lie about an increase in income. It seems that US Bank may do things differently. If you have a card for five years you don't need to update your income because the bank will increase your limit automatically. The bank will always be more than happy to raise your limit if you are a good active customer.

http://creditfast.com|||Vitaly,

I hear ya, they didn't increase mine either and they said it done solely on random account selection. I've had sterling repayment history with them and all my other accounts.

Apparently clients can't request increases they have to be given!
