How long does it take for a first-time credit card to raise your credit limit?

I have a $700 limit and was curious as to when I would see it increase. I use it for college expenses (gas, once in a while, and semester books). Also, when will it start reporting to the credit bureaus about timely payments and such?|||The card will either report monthly or every three months and should show up on your credit within one to two monthly cycles. You shouldn't expect to see a credit increase in the current credit market.|||They should have started reporting to the credit bureaus right after your first official due date.

Regarding the credit limit...almost ALL credit card companies have frozen credit limits due to the economy...many have actually reduced credit limits.|||credit rate =debt rate, even if you use your credit card if you pay it off, likely you wont have that good of a credit rate.....|||It is going to be tricky to get that credit limit increased if you are carrying a balance. Credit card companies have tightened up.

The only way is to make sure you are not using more than 30% of your avaialbe credit and then give them a call. /
