If you request a credit limit increase on a credit card, and its declined, does it effect your credit score?

If you request a credit limit increase on a credit card, and its declined, does it effect your credit score, or anything?

Thanks.|||yes, it decreases your credit score.

However, not due to being denied, rather you would get a small hit for two reasons:

1. requesting credit

2. Having someone look at your credit score.|||Getting declined for an increase does not lower your score.

Having someone look at your credit score does.|||No it does not

http://www.letranslator.com|||it depends on how they qualified you....

if they looked at your credit bureau, then yes it does effect it any inquiry does

if they based it on your account history solely with them, it will not

i would assume they wouldn't have looked at your credit bureau if you did it by phone, if you signed and mailed something i would assume they did|||yes, anytime you apply for a new credit card or ask for an increase, (or basically anything that has to check your credit), it affects your score.|||because you requested it.....yes
